Poolside escapes, campfire afternoons and beach getaways are the true mark of an everlasting summer. But all that time in the sun can wreak havoc on your skincare routine. Even perfectly bronzed skin can appear dry and dull if you don’t take the time to stay moisturized and hydrated. Follow these simple rules for keeping your skin luscious while maintaining the tan you’ve worked so hard to achieve.
*Hydrate! Hydrate! Hydrate! Sweating in the sun can deplete your body of its much-needed water supply. Make sure to drink at least 8 glasses of water per day during sun play.
*Look for moisturizers that contain a soothing element like vitamin E, sandalwood or aloe.
*Exfoliate with sea salt to help shed old skin cells and reveal fresh-looking, vibrant skin.
*Extend your tan with a body butter that’s made to moisturize your skin while gradually darkening your color.
*As much as we try to avoid reddened skin, if this happens apply a cold compress to ease pain and swelling.
*Pick up a bronzer to give your skin a beautiful sheen.
Don’t let your tan fade away with the end of summer. A little exfoliation and some TLC can keep your skin soft and your tan vibrant.
